The Hong Kong Photography Club had an outing last week which was called 5 strangers. The main goal of the outing was to approach 5 strangers and ask them if you could take their picture. You also had to try and get their names and a bit of a story. The outing was inspired by the 100 strangers website and flickr group following. Check it out here:

I managed to get 13 portraits of some very interesting characters near the Causeway Bay MTR. When approaching the strangers I tried to be as relaxed as possible so that they could feel the same. I feel so lucky to have met these cool characters, even though most of them were brief encounters – i only managed to get a story from one of the strangers, Rene(#13), who is a graphic designer and has been growing his dreads for over 9 years!WOW!
I used a 50mm lens to achieve the ‘look’you see below – it is the closest field of view to the human eye.

Nice ones Sean, I especially like 1 5 6 and 13, a great task this is, I started just today also and find its so far on day one way more fun than i expected to do this!
